Biophilic design is centred around creating connections to nature in human spaces. It helps us to be more creative, calmer and healthier.
What is biophilia?
Biophilia is the ‘innate and genetically determined affinity of human beings with the natural world.’ We are ourselves living things, and we thrive when in environments that foster a connection to nature or include natural materials and elements, including living plants.
Biophilic Design
The principles of biophilic design guide our projects at Plant Designs. This is the practice of integrating natural elements and inspiration into the built environment. This includes plants as part of a more sustainable and natural architectural approach, that connects people with the places we live and work in.
Certified Green
The most recognised green building standards, such as WELL and BREEAM, include planting as part of their criteria. Indoor and outdoor planting both count towards these certifications which as well as being beneficial to the environment, help show your brand as forward thinking helping to attract and retain the best talent and clients.
