At Plant Designs we like to be green on the inside as well as the outside. Working with you to build better connections to nature is what we do, doing this sustainably is always top of our list.

Committed to Better

We are committed to working in an eco-friendly way. We work to reduce waste by ordering only what projects require, our best-in-class plant care also reduces the need for plant replacements. We reuse and re-home as many plants as possible when needed and compost any remaining green waste.

Green Focus

We have a Sustainability Lead who is focussed on how we can improve our practices in-house, where we are doing well and what needs further improvement. We are always looking at adding to our certifications and to provide internal training across teams. We work with a waste management company that operate a zero to landfill system, ensuring as little waste as possible.

Out and About

Our sales and horticultural teams are based in central London, cutting down travel time to visit your sites. These teams also travel entirely by public transport or on foot, reducing our travel emissions significantly. The only vans we use are for transporting goods and for installations and these journeys are from our West London warehouse, often travelling at off-peak times, to reduce emissions from sitting in traffic.

Materials

We believe in do it once and do it right, so always use top quality materials across our services. This includes the best plants, all planted in our peat-free organic Vulkaponic planting medium, sourcing quality Christmas decorations and reusing and rehoming everything we can. Where live plants won’t suit, we always recommend preserved plants over plastic, a natural and biodegradable alternative.

Regular care

Our trained Horticulturalists visit you and your plants on a bespoke schedule, up to twice as often as the industry standard. This means happy plants, that look great, avoiding too many plant replacements and means we can use eco-friendly pest management methods. Less waste, no harsh chemicals and a more beautiful space for you.
